Job Description:The Field Sales Representative is an outside sales position, and is responsible for increasing the sales and margins of Liberty Electric Sales and Empire State Sales, by calling on and building relationships with End Users, Architects, Facilities/Maintenance personnel, Specifying Engineers, Electrical Contractors and Distributors in the Western NY and Northwest PA territory. Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Increasing business by generating sales to new customers and by selling additional products to existing customers.
Prospects for new accounts within a specified geographical territory.
Pursues product applications utilizing personal knowledge, internal specialists or other internal resources, vendor representatives and other available sources.
Establishes and maintains customer relationships. Learns and evaluates customer operations to aid in identifying customer objectives, requirements and preferences.
Provides continuous quote follow up throughout the completion of the customer's purchasing cycle.
Gathers and reports to management information regarding the company, competitors, pricing, products and current and future market trends as well as assists management and vendors in planning, tracking and implementing sales strategies and developing new markets.
Achieves and maintains technical capabilities at required levels, attends customer seminars, schools and special promotions and participates in sales meetings, vendor seminars and training schools to enhance and maintain personal and product knowledge.
Works with inside team to provide customer quotes and then leads the follow up process to ensure that Liberty win’s the business.
Uses technology to help maintain records of activities.
3 – 5 years outside sales experience in industry.
Track record of success in business to business sales.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills including the ability to convincingly persuade others.
Ability to clearly and effectively set goals
Ability to travel to current and potential clients.
Ability to work a flexible schedule and occasional overnight travel.
In-office time will be generally limited to early-morning and late-afternoon, with the majority of time being out in the field performing direct selling activities in front of prospective customers
Experience Required:Minimum 2 years inside or outside sales in electrical, HVAC, plumbing or industrial wholesaling
