The Syracuse Builders Exchange is pleased to invite your company to the MWBE/DBE/SDVO Construction Showcase. This free in-person networking event is open to SBE member employers, general contractors, construction manager and project owners. It is intended to highlight some of the region’s MWBE/DBE/SDVO construction companies, and to promote the utilization of such companies on future construction projects.

This free event will take place on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM at the DoubleTree Hotel, off the Carrier Circle. While networking during the event, the Syracuse Builders Exchange will provide our guests with one complimentary beverage, hot hors d’oeuvres, a turkey carving station, and cash bar.

Please register for this event by clicking the registration button below. The registration deadline is Friday, November 3, 2023 and capacity will be limited to the first 300 who register, so please register early.

OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Course

Date: November 13 - 14, 2023

Time: 8am to 1:30 pm both days

Instructor: Lisa Brownson, CSP, Safety Source Consultants, Ltd.

This class will be held at the Syracuse Builders Exchange located at 6563 Ridings Rd, Syracuse, NY. We have several safety guidelines in place - please be sure to review them. Due to demand, only 4 people per company.

Please Be Advised – There is a Processing Fee for each Student’s Completion Card. This Non-Refundable Fee Must Be Received Or The Completion Card Will Not Be Released To The Student. Please note Effective 10/1/2023 OSHA has increased the cost of the completion cards to $15.00. Payment of $15.00 per student Must Be Received By The First Day Of Class. If Paying By Check – Please Make Payable To: Safety Source Consultants. Please Be Aware OSHA Regulations Prohibit The Instructor From Distributing Completion Cards To Anyone Other Than The Student Present At The Class. Cards Will Not Be Distributed To Employers. If A Copy Is Required, Please Have Your Employee Provide One.

Students must attend both days in order to receive their completion card

SBE Safety Guidelines:

Attendees of any class must be pre-registered. Anyone not on the pre-registration list will not be admitted. Do not send a replacement unless you notify SBE in advance.
Entrance to the building as well as exiting, will be through the rear doors ONLY. This entrance is located at the rear parking lot on the southern end of the building. Do not enter or exit through the main front entrance or through our plan room entrance.
Hand sanitizer will be available in the classroom.
Please bring your own writing instruments.

OSHA 30-Hour Construction Outreach Course

FOUR DAYS - November 21^st - 22^nd and 28^th – 29^th , 2023 all four dates. 8:00 am - 4:30 pm *Registrants must attend all 4 sessions in order to receive their certification card. This is an in-person class at the Syracuse Builders Exchange (no virtual attendance) - 6563 Ridings Rd, Syracuse, NY 13206

Instructor: Lisa Brownson, CSP, - Safety Course Consultants Ltd.

The OSHA 30-hour construction outreach course is required by Corning Glass, Anhueser-Busch, Cornell University, Turner Construction, Slattery Skanska and others for the lead foremen and superintendents. Subjects covered will include OSHA, Fall Protection, Electrical Safety, Scaffolding, Respiratory Protection, and much more. OSHA has made several changes to the 10 and 30 hour courses employers and employees should be aware of.

Please note, Effective 10/1/23 OSHA has increased the price of the certification cards to $15.00. *PLEASE BE ADVISED – OSHA HAS IMPLEMENTED A $15.00 PROCESSING FEE FOR EACH STUDENT’S CERTIFICATION CARD. THIS NON-REFUNDABLE FEE MUST BE RECEIVED OR THE CERTIFICATION CARD WILL NOT BE RELEASED TO THE STUDENT AT THE CLASS. STUDENTS MUST PURCHASE A COPY OF THE CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS AT A COST OF $50.00 (non-refundable) FROM THE INSTRUCTOR. PAYMENT OF $65 PER PERSON IS DUE TWO-WEEKS PRIOR TO THE START DATE OF THE COURSE. IF PAYMENT HAS NOT BEEN RECEIVED, THE INDIVIDUAL WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE. ANY CANCELLATIONS MADE AFTER THE MATERIALS HAVE BEEN ORDERED WILL STILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYMENT.
