The Builder’s Exchange is pleased to announce the Central New York Construction Career Day will be held on October 2, 2024, from 9:00am until 1:00pm. We will be back at the F-Shed and surrounding parking lot at the CNY Regional Market. Construction industry employers, and those engaged in the industry are invited to participate! In the early years of the Construction Career Day, funds were provided through the New York State Dept. of Transportation. Due to the many limitations and requirements to obtain those funds, the Central New York Construction Career Day committee decided to refrain from accepting NYS funding and became a self-funded event, paid for primarily through donations and sponsorships in addition to exhibitor participation. With the rising cost of supplies and a venue, the Career Day costs approximately $21,000 d annually. Click here for Sponsorship opportunities and the Exhibitor registration form.

Sponsorships and Vendor participation are crucial to continue providing a quality event for local high schools and their students.

The event has enjoyed great participation from local high schools and organizations. This year’s event is expected to attract more than 500 high school students from grades 9-12.

The career Day event relies on vendor participation and sponsorships so that students can gain the information needed to pursue a career in the construction industry. OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Course

Date: October 7 - 8, 2024

Time: 8:00 am to 1:30 pm both days

Instructor: John MacVittie

This class will be held at the Syracuse Builders Exchange located at 6563 Ridings Rd, Syracuse, NY. We have safety guidelines in place - please be sure to review them. Due to demand, only 4 people per company, unless there are available seats.

Please Be Advised – OSHA requires that cards be sent to the students, if a copy is required, please see the employee for a copy of their completion card. The cost of the course will be $30 per student SBE Member Firms and $50 per student Non-Members. Payments must be received by the First Day of Class. If Paying By Check – Please Make Payable To: Syracuse Builders Exchange and mail to 6563 Ridings Road, Syracuse, NY 13206. Course fees are non-refundable.

Students must attend both days in order to receive their completion card. Please let us know if your employee cannot attend so we can free up their spot. If another employee will replace an employee registered for the class, no problem, please let us know.

SBE Safety Guidelines:

Kindly enter and exit the building through the entrance located at the rear parking lot on the southern end of the building.
Hand sanitizer will be available in the classroom.
Please bring your own writing instruments.

Presenters for this class will be Jeffrey Trubia (partner) and Scott Hosler (principal).

Jeffrey is the team leader for the Small Business Advisors group and a member of Bonadio’s Tax Council. He has over 25 years of public accounting experience, advising companies on business management and growth issues.

Scott is a Principal on the Small Business Advisory team and is responsible for the SBA work in the Utica office. Scott has over 27 years of tax and small business advisory experience and has handled all types of small business tax matters.
