OSHA# 510 Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry

Course Description

This course covers OSHA Standards, policies, and procedures in the construction industry. Topics include scope and application of the OSHA construction standards, construction safety and health principles, and special emphasis on those areas in construction which are most hazardous. Upon course completion students will have the ability to define construction terms found in the OSHA Construction Standards, identify hazards which occur in the construction industry, locate and determine appropriate OSHA Construction Standards, policies, and procedures, and describe the use of the OSHA Construction Standards and regulations to supplement an ongoing safety and health program.

Minimum student contact hours: 26

Prerequisites: None

As a student in this course, you will be required to pass a knowledge base test to receive your course completion certificate. If you do not pass the test, you will receive a letter of attendance only. Please note that a refund will not be issued if you do not pass the test.

All participants must bring a current copy of the OSHA construction regulations, 29 CFR 1926, to the course.

Cost: $895

OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Course

Date: April 8 - 9, 2024

Time: 8:00 am to 1:30 pm both days

Instructor: Lisa Brownson, CSP, Safety Source Consultants, Ltd.

This class will be held at the Syracuse Builders Exchange located at 6563 Ridings Rd, Syracuse, NY. We have safety guidelines in place - please be sure to review them. Due to demand, only 4 people per company, unless there are available seats.

Please Be Advised – OSHA requires that cards be sent to the students, if a copy is required, please see the employee for a copy of their completion card. The cost of the course will be $30 per student SBE Member Firms and $50 per student Non-Members. Payments must be received by the First Day of Class. If Paying By Check – Please Make Payable To: Syracuse Builders Exchange and mail to 6563 Ridings Road, Syracuse, NY 13206. Course fees are non-refundable.

Students must attend both days in order to receive their completion card. Please let us know if your employee cannot attend so we can free up their spot. If another employee will replace an employee registered for the class, no problem, please let us know.

SBE Safety Guidelines:

Kindly enter and exit the building through the entrance located at the rear parking lot on the southern end of the building.
Hand sanitizer will be available in the classroom.
Please bring your own writing instruments.

This class examines the use of public and private improvement mechanic’s liens for protecting accounts receivable and to assist in getting you paid. The differences between the two types of liens, their impact and usefulness, how they are enforced and the mechanics of mechanic’s liens are discussed in detail. We also examine public and private project payment bonds. We examine the mechanics of payment bonds and what you need to know to protect your rights to bring an action against a surety if you are not paid. Open questions are welcomed.
