Back by popular demand, Handling OSHA Inspections! This seminar will review How to Handle an OSHA Inspection and review the steps and processes in an OSHA Inspection on your jobsite. What to do when OSHA knocks on the door from beginning to end, and how to prepare for a citation if you receive one.

OSHA plans to double the number of inspectors beginning in 2024, so with increased inspection activity, contractors need to be current on OSHA policies and how to protect their companies from significant OSHA citations and penalties.

SBE is pleased to invite representatives from member firms to attend the upcoming Syracuse Builders Exchange Meet & Greet. The event will be held on October 14, 2025, from 5-7 PM at the Fort Schuyler Club in Utica, NY.

Attendees will have the opportunity to network with their peers, and hear Executive Director Earl R. Hall update members on the behind the scenes activities at SBE. Enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres, one free drink ticket per guest, and a cash bar thereafter.

OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Course

Date: October 16 - 17, 2025

Time: 8:00 am to 1:30 pm both days

Instructor: Windell Gray, Landon and Rian

This class will be held at the Syracuse Builders Exchange located at 6563 Ridings Rd, Syracuse, NY. We have safety guidelines in place - please be sure to review them. Due to demand, only 4 people per company, unless there are available seats.

The OSHA 10-hour Construction Industry Outreach course helps participants recognize and identify solutions to common safety and health hazards on the job. There is a New York State law requiring most workers on publicly funded construction sites to have the OSHA wallet card proving they have completed the OSHA 10-hour for Construction training course. Many General Contractors and Construction Management firms also require that subcontractors' employees have the 10-hour. Upon completion of the OSHA 10-hour for Construction, you will receive a course completion card that does not expire.

Please Be Advised – OSHA requires that cards be sent to the students, if a copy is required, please see the employee for a copy of their completion card. The cost of the course will be $30 per student SBE Member Firms and $50 per student Non-Members. Payments must be received by the First Day of Class. If Paying By Check – Please Make Payable To: Syracuse Builders Exchange and mail to 6563 Ridings Road, Syracuse, NY 13206. Course fees are non-refundable.

Students must attend both days in order to receive their completion card. Please let us know if your employee cannot attend so we can free up their spot. If another employee will replace an employee registered for the class, no problem, please let us know.

SBE Safety Guidelines:

Kindly enter and exit the building through the entrance located at the rear parking lot on the southern end of the building.
Hand sanitizer will be available in the classroom.
Please bring your own writing instruments.
Cell phone use in the classroom may be restricted at the discretion of the instructor. If you need to reach your employee during the course, please call SBE’s main phone number 315.437.9936.

We are excited to invite your firm to participate in the upcoming Central New York Construction Career Day on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the CNY Regional Market F-Shed from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

This event provides various construction industry-related entities the ability to educate high school students about the many construction career opportunities available to students upon graduation. There will be hands-on activities, employer exhibitor booths, heavy equipment operation and more! Lunch will be provided.
