How to use the AIA Application for Payments

The objective of this course is to have a better understanding of why the AIA document is used and how to use it. This course will include topics on G702 and G703 payment forms. The instructors will cover Application for Payment, Continuation Sheet, line items, and change orders (as it pertains to billing).

James is an accomplished consultant with nearly 40 years of experience in the construction industry in a variety of disciplines including, but not limited to: construction management, construction administration, general construction, sitework, concrete, paving, masonry, structural steel, miscellaneous metals, roofing, soft flooring, hard flooring, drywall, and painting.

Diana Plue is a senior associate at Sheats & Bailey, PLLC. Diana’s practice is mainly concentrated in the areas of Construction Law and Employment Law. Diana represents general contractors, trade contractors, owners, design professionals and insurance companies located throughout United States and Canada.

OSHA 30-Hour Construction Outreach Course

Date: March 19, 20, 26, 27, 2026

Time: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm all 4 days

Location: Syracuse Builders Exchange / 6563 Riding Road / Syracuse, NY 13206

Instructor: Lisa Brownson, Safety Source Consultants

Registrants must attend all 4 sessions in order to receive their certification card, March 19, 20, 26, 27, 2026. This is an in-person class at the Syracuse Builders Exchange (no virtual attendance) – 6563 Ridings Road, Syracuse, NY 13206.

The OSHA 30-hour construction outreach course is required by Corning Glass, Anhueser-Busch, Cornell University, Turner Construction, Slattery Skanska and others for lead foremen and superintendents. Subjects covered will include OSHA, Fall Protection, Electrical Safety, Scaffolding, Respiratory Protection, and much more.

PLEASE BE ADVISED – OSHA requires that cards be sent to the students, if a copy is required, please see the employee for a copy of their completion card. The cost of the course will be $100 per student for SBE Member Firms and $200 for Non-Members. Payment must be received by the first day of class and is non-refundable. If paying By Check – Please Make Payable To: Syracuse Builders Exchange and mail to 6563 Ridings Road, Syracuse, NY 13206. Course fees are non-refundable.

Students must attend all 4 days in order to receive their completion card.

Attendees of any class must be pre-registered. Please let us know if your employees cannot attend so we can free up their spot. If another employee will replace an employee registered for the class, no problem, please let us know.

OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Course

Date: March 23-24, 2026

Time: 8:00 am to 1:30 pm both days

Instructor: Lisa Brownson, CSP, Safety Source Consultants, Ltd.

This class will be held at the Syracuse Builders Exchange located at 6563 Ridings Rd, Syracuse, NY. There are safety guidelines in place - please be sure to review them.

The OSHA 10-hour Construction Industry Outreach course helps participants recognize and identify solutions to common safety and health hazards on the job. There is a New York State law requiring most workers on publicly funded construction sites to have the OSHA wallet card proving they have completed the OSHA 10-hour for Construction training course. Many General Contractors and Construction Management firms also require that subcontractors' employees have the 10-hour. Upon completion of the OSHA 10-hour for Construction, you will receive a course completion card that does not expire.

Please Be Advised – OSHA requires that cards be sent to the students, if a copy is required, please see the employee for a copy of their completion card. The cost of the course will be $30 per student SBE Member Firms and $50 per student Non-Members. Payments cannot be submitted at the time of registration. An invoice will be emailed to you separately, which will include a link for payment. Payments must be received by the First Day of Class. If Paying By Check – Please Make Payable To: Syracuse Builders Exchange and mail to 6563 Ridings Road, Syracuse, NY 13206. Course fees are non-refundable.

If one of your employees needs a translator, we will try to help them find a suitable class, but they will not be able to attend a scheduled 10-hour at the SBE. OSHA requires, when a translator is needed, that the 10-hour take 20 hours due to the extra time necessary to teach the material.

Be prepared to act when emergencies arise. When you understand first aid, you’ll gain the ability to help those in need. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) can help save a life if a person’s breathing or heart stops. When a sudden cardiac arrest event happens, minutes matter. In this course you will learn how to treat and recognize heart attacks, strokes, diabetic emergencies and more.

This course will also speak about first aid for severe bleeding. Serious injury can lead to life-threatening blood loss within minutes, be prepared to provide lifesaving care when the unexpected happens.

This course will be an in-person only session, no virtual attendance. The course will be held at Syracuse Builders Exchange, 6563 Ridings Road, Syracuse, NY 13206. Attendees must be pre-registered to attend.
